Free Computer Learning at OCU
Oklahoma City University’s Intergenerational Computer Center has a program that offers free training to all ages of learners. Courses are offered on a huge variety of topics including: Using the Internet, computing basics, GED prep, English as a second language, Teacher Professional Development (Smart Board, Smart Slates, and Smart Response Systems), MS Office programs and Web Design.
Three classrooms with 69 seats provide Windows desktops as well as Windows and Mac laptops. The computers offer a wide variety of software applications, and the latest in teaching technology. A children’s area with age appropriate computer programs and educational activities is available so that families may enjoy the ICC together. Additionally, a mobile computer lab with 20 laptops is available to go out into the community.The staff is knowledgeable, patient and friendly and the “Professor Teaches” program allows learners to become proficient with Microsoft products and progress at their own pace.
